For two decades, EJS has been transforming the nation’s consciousness on race through law, social science, and the arts. Our legal strategy aims to broaden conceptions of present-day discrimination to include unconscious and structural bias by using social science, structural analysis, and real-life experience.

EJS is an equity catalyst focused on school discipline and the school-to-prison pipeline, race-conscious remedies, educational and workplace diversity pipelines, and criminal justice reform. We also collaborate with artists to create content and performances that build community and deepen social justice engagement.

The Equal Justice Society continues to strengthen its role in the racial justice movement as one of the country’s few legal organizations fighting modern-day discrimination by intersecting the law, race, and social science.
