The Equal Justice Society announced that Heather Snedeker has joined the organization as Director of Development as of June 3, 2024.

Heather brings to EJS more than 14 years of experience in development and fundraising, having served as Senior Development Manager for the American Cancer Society in Nevada, as Development Manager for the ACLU of Nevada, and in fundraising positions for the foundations of the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Florida State University.

“Heather’s exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills, combined with her collaborative spirit and commitment to justice, will inspire and influence genuine commitment to community transformation through social justice strategies rooted in equity and repair,” said EJS President Lisa Holder. “We are excited to welcome Heather to the EJS family and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on our mission and overall sustainability.”

Heather was drawn to EJS’s vision and values, which resonate deeply with her own advocacy work. She understands the critical role philanthropy plays in supporting efforts to advance racial and socioeconomic justice through legal challenges.

At the ACLU of Nevada, Heather demonstrated exceptional skills in managing individual giving campaigns, major gifts, and grant seeking/management. She has a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets, raising over $1 million by fostering authentic relationships with donors, implementing strategic engagement initiatives, and crafting compelling grant proposals.

As Director of Development, Heather will spearhead the creation and execution of strategic plans spanning various revenue streams and donor demographics. She will oversee the formulation and continuous management of pivotal funding strategies, including individual and major gifts, corporate and foundation grant applications, and annual campaigns. Heather’s comprehensive expertise in development operations, goal setting, budget management, and grant submissions will be invaluable as she helps lead our fundraising efforts.
