Civil Rights Organizer/Program Manager
Tyler Kyser joined the Equal Justice Society as Civil Rights Organizer/Program Manager in January 2025.
A dedicated organizer deeply committed to racial and housing justice, Tyler brings a strong background in grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, and leadership in movements for social change.
In her previous role as Policy Director at San Francisco’s Coalition on Homelessness, she developed organizational stances, analyzed legislative policies, and built relationships with elected officials and media to advocate for equitable housing policies that prioritize the needs of marginalized communities.
She has also worked in leadership roles advancing organizing strategies, supervising teams, and strengthening coalitions to push for systemic change.
Tyler believes that liberation is not just something to dream about, but it is something we must build, touch, and claim for ourselves. She sees youth organizing as the key to transformation, shifting us from envisioning freedom to actively living it.
With clarity and a passion for dismantling systemic oppression, she is excited to bring her energy and commitment to EJS. She approaches this work with integrity, care, and an unwavering belief in the power of collective action to turn radical imagination into tangible justice.
The Civil Rights Organizer/Program Manager is a new position at the Equal Justice Society and is made possible by a contribution from EJS board member Kelly Dermody, Managing Partner of the San Francisco office of Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP.
