We are all so happy that January 20th marks the start of a new fresh era for the United States and the world. Our friend, the fabulous journalist Betty Medsger, has passed along a wonderful idea for the moment President Obama is officially sworn in. Please tell your friends around the country and around the world. And if you have a connection with folks on the inaugural committee, please see if this can be an official part of the events of January 20, 2009.
Happy New Year. Here’s to better times.
Here’s a great Inauguration Day idea from Jane Pellegrini, a supporter of Barack Obama from Stonington, Conn.
As a sign of our joy and hope, as soon as Barack Obama is sworn in, let’s ring bells.
Wherever we are – in Washington at the Inauguration, from the open windows and doors of our homes, on the streets of villages, towns and cities, in the countryside – let’s share the spirit of joy and hope that this election has created. We – and people throughout the world who share our joy and hope — will be able to hear each other’s spirits rise through the bells we – and they – ring on that day.
If you don’t have a bell, you probably can find one at a local store. If that’s not possible, here are some websites where bells are sold.

If you like this idea, please forward to as many people as possible.
Thanks,
Betty
I have no problem with the sentiments, but shouldn’t the word be “consciousness” rather than “conscious”?
