NAACP: An African American President. What’s Next in Your Lifetime?

Our friend Ben Jealous emailed today about a very cool web viral campaign from the NAACP where you upload your photo and your hopes for the next “in my lifetime” event.  The photos and text get added to a virtual collage. The site is here and Ben’s email below:

It’s real. An African American president is moving into the White House next Tuesday… and it’s really happening in our lifetime!

At the NAACP, we’ve been working for 100 years to make this moment possible. From desegregating the military to Brown v. Board of Education to a Black commander in chief, courage and hard work have set the stage for victories that many of us thought we’d never see.

What’s your hope for the next “in my lifetime” event? Tell us on the NAACP In My Lifetime gallery of hopes and photos.

1.  Sign our pledge to build a united America where — as Dr. King put it — our children are judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

2. Tell us what’s the next big obstacle that we can overcome together, and upload your photo.

3. Tell your friends! Help us spread the word about the NAACP’s ongoing work for a better America.

When you sign the pledge, you’ll be entered in a drawing to win two tickets to the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles on February 12. Hosted by Halle Berry and Tyler Perry, the show will be broadcast live on Fox TV — and you could be there!

Thank you for all your support.

Sincerely,

Ben Jealous
President and CEO
