The Bay Area Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society will honor Equal Justice Society President Eva Paterson with its Fearless Advocate Award on June 2 at Salesforce Park in San Francisco. Congratulations, Eva!
From Van Swearingen and Sam Harbourt, 2022 ACS Bay Area Lawyer Chapter Gala Chairs:
We write to invite you to attend our 13th Annual ACS Bay Area Gala, which will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm. After two years of virtual gala events, we are pleased to return to an in-person gathering, giving us a chance to reconnect with those we’ve missed seeing over the past two years. The event will take place at Salesforce Park, a unique rooftop space above the Transbay Transit Center. The event will be held outdoors, and vaccination will be required for attendees.
The theme for this year’s gala is “Furthering the Legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.” Our event will feature a keynote conversation between two former Ginsburg clerks: Justice Goodwin Liu of the California Supreme Court and Professor Amanda Tyler of Berkeley Law. Their discussion will explore the life and legacy of Justice Ginsburg, whose work as an advocate and jurist remains an inspiration to all of us in the progressive legal community.
We are also thrilled to be presenting our Fearless Advocate Award to a cherished member of our chapter’s Board of Advisors: Eva Paterson, who is retiring this year after more than four decades as a civil rights champion, community leader, and litigator, including 21 years leading the Equal Justice Society and 13 years as Executive Director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area.
We hope to see you there! Early bird tickets are available here.
