Equal Justice Society President Lisa Holder will join California Attorney General Rob Bonta at a democracy forum in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
“Our Fragile Democracy: The Role of State Attorneys General in Upholding the Law in Times of Crisis” is sponsored by the Daniel K. Inouye National Center for the Preservation of Democracy (“Democracy Center”) at the Japanese American National Museum. The event is free, but tickets are required.
In addition to Attorney General Bonta and Holder, the speakers also include Connie Chung Joe of Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California and Ann Burroughs of JANM for a discussion about immigration and deportation policies, threats to democratic institutions and the rule of law, and cuts to education, the arts, and cultural nonprofits. As executive orders and funding cuts are met with legal challenges across the nation, the presenters will detail the impact on issues that matter to our communities.
The Japanese American National Museum Democracy Center is at 100 North Central Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012 in the Little Tokyo neighborhood.
